GENERAL INFORMATION
What cookies are and what they are used for
A cookie is a text file that a website visited by the user sends to the user’s device (computer, mobile device such as smartphone or tablet), where it is stored in order to be retransmitted to the same website on the occasion of a subsequent visit.
Cookies are classified:
- according to the party that installs them, depending on whether they are installed by the operator of the visited website itself (“first-party cookies”) or by a different party (“third-party cookies”);
- according to their purpose: some cookies enable better navigation by storing certain user preferences, such as language (“technical cookies”); other cookies allow monitoring of user navigation, also for the purpose of sending advertising and/or offering services in line with the user’s preferences (“profiling cookies”).
Only profiling cookies require the user’s prior consent for their use. The Data Controller is responsible exclusively for first-party cookies installed directly on the Site. In the section “First-party technical cookies,” you can view the types of first-party technical cookies released by the Site. The management of third-party profiling cookies is described in the section “Third-party profiling cookies.”
